About Bill Goodman Applebee's

As the Food and Beverage Director for Penn National Gaming in Hobbs, New Mexico, Bill Goodman supervises a workforce of 200 employees, including eight managers, in four separate themed restaurants. He is also responsible for banquet facilities and a large employee restaurant. Mr. Goodman has been with the company since 2010, overseeing $4 million in annual food and beverage sales. In his nearly three decades in the food and beverage industry, he has consistently demonstrated strong communication and management skills.

From 1985 to 1990, Mr. Goodman helped establish Willie C’s Cafe and Bar in Wichita, Kansas, developing the kitchen system, refining the menu, and overseeing and conceptualizing much of the design and operations for two locations. Mr. Goodman also created a computerized inventory, accounts payable, and food cost system. He subsequently worked as Store Manager at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Lebanon, Tennessee, for a period of two years.

In 1992, Bill Goodman accepted a position with J.S. Ventures, Inc., the parent company of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. As Director of Operations, Mr. Goodman supervised the opening of 19 locations, from the start of construction through operations, over a period of 12 years. He also supervised nine Applebee's location remodels and held responsibilities that ranged from marketing to employee management. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Goodman served as Managing Partner at InPlay Omaha, LLC, in Omaha, Nebraska, supervising the construction of the 60,000-square-foot family entertainment complex, as well as handling marketing, vendor accounts and the hiring and training of employees.

From 2006 to 2010, Bill Goodman was the Assistant Food and Beverage Director for the Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa, overseeing $19 million in sales, 300 employees and 35 managers in four restaurants. He was also responsible for banquet facilities, casino beverages, a VIP club, and a large employee cafeteria. Active in many communities that he has worked and lived in, Mr. Goodman is an enthusiastic supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
